Alumni Contributing to College Varsity Teams

Five of the eight seniors graduating in 2006 are now playing for varsity teams in college.  Alex Harrison and Bill Yates are now playing for Springfield College,  Ian Michalski is playing for Mercyhurst, Austin Michalski is playing for New Haven and A.J. Witkofsky is playing for Endicott.  A couple are already making big contributions as freshmen.  The other three seniors, Adrian Michalski (Stevens), Shawn Gordon (Naval Academy) and Matt McCarty (Northeastern) are all playing for club programs at their schools.

WEST HAVEN, CT, Feb 5, 2007 - Freshman A.J. Witkofsky's (Scotia, NY/Burnt Hills Ballston Lake) team leading13 kills were not enough, as the Endicott College men's volleyball team fell to the University of New Haven in three straight games, 30-19, 34-32 and 30-28.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., January 26, 2007 – Springfield College freshman outside hitter Alex Harrison (Albany, N.Y.) totaled a match-high 12 kills on 26 swings with just four errors for a .308 hitting percentage as the fifth-ranked Pride downed the Wildcats of Johnson & Wales University, 3-0 (30-19, 34-32, 30-22), this evening in a non-conference match at Blake Arena.

 

Seven Players on 2006 Empire State Games Rosters

Five of the ten roster spots on the 2006 Adirondack Boy's Volleyball team were filled by players from The 518 Volleyball Club.  Juniors Stephen Eames, Zeke Kubisch, Damian Privitera, David Spangler and Aaron Zakrzewski all made the team playing in Rochester in July 2006.  Seniors Alex Harrison and A.J. Witkofsky both played on the silver medal winning Men's Open team.
